Requiring workers to choose cuts health costs
A recent study has found that employers can successfully cut health care costs by raising deductibles and co-payments and adopting wellness programs. These new methods have proved much more successful than traditional cost cutting measures such as switching health plans or limiting hospital stays. The movement for more employee responsibility has drawn criticism from those who see it as punishing employees.
