Retail employees at Apple stores in Australia plan to strike on Christmas to demand better working conditions and pay
Apple employees in Australia plan to go on strike on Christmas in order to demand better wages and working conditions. These retail employees are represented by the Retail and Fast Food Workers Union, and they are seeking definitive work schedules with a two-day weekend as well as wage increases. The union had first tried to meet with management to negotiate a deal, but Apple refused to meet until February which has resulted in the decision to strike. This labor action arises following the work disruptions at an iPhone factory in China that have already negatively impacted production and sales.
