Retirees' health costs jump for third year
A recent report by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation and Hewitt Associates revealed that for the third straight year, retirees are paying double double-digit increases for healthcare coverage. The increase is caused by their former employers shifting a greater share of the costs to new retirees. Retiree health care coverage is also becoming an increasingly rare benefit, as health care costs continue to increase dramatically for employers.
