Retirees Say Players Shouldn?t Have Negotiated for Them
Retired NFL players are filing a letter with the NLRB today to complain about how the decertified player's union had negotiated retiree benefits in the latest NFL contract negotiations. The retirees claim that the union was to leave those negotiations to retiree representatives, but the union conintued to negotiate all issues relating to retirees. In the recent negotiations, the union hailed an additional $900m in retiree benefits for the next ten years, but the retiree class claims that they had a plan to restructure the retiree benefit program and did not get a chance to negotiate it into the contract.
