Royal Mail workers vote to strike
Royal Mail employees belonging to the Communication Workers Union voted to strike in opposition to the lack of clarity surrounding proposed cuts as part of a Royal Mail effort to compete in a shrinking market. The CWU says the issue is not the cuts themselves, but rather the refusal of Royal Mail managers to outline the scope of the cuts and what will happen to workers who stay on. The Royal Mail says that the agreement signed in 2007 means the CWU agreed to future cuts and that a strike now is irresponsible.
