Ruling finds that CNN broke labor laws
The National Labor Relations Board found that CNN violated labor laws in ending a subcontract relationship with Team Video Services in an effort to operate without a union. The Board ordered CNN to reinstate over 100 employees who were contracted to execute camera, studio, engineering, and other tech work. An administrative judge found that CNN was required to bargain with the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians-Communications Workers of America in order to end the subcontracting agreement. CNN has said it will appeal the ruling.
