Rumors of a Cheap-Energy Jobs Boom Remain Just That
As industries like manufacturing fall short of hopes for job increases, some are saying that industries like hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, can create millions of jobs. While many are critical of fracking for its environmental effects, others say that the claims about jobs are unfounded. While some studies say that fracking could help create over a million jobs, others say that competition and lost cost labor and products from other countries make that unlikely.
