S. California grocery union makes tentative deal
Grocery workers have reached an agreement with Southern California grocery chains. The deal was reached Monday, a day after workers could have gone on strike. The United Food and Commercial Workers union, which represents the workers said that the workers stood together to get a fair contract. The contract, which will cover about 62,000 workers, will be voted on by the workers on Saturday. Both sides wanted to avoid a strike, with some of the chains saying that they would initially close most, if not all of their stores
