S.F. Hilton, Unite Here Local 2 reach deal
Unite Here announced an agreement on Monday that will settle 18 months of negotiations at the Hilton hotel in San Francisco. The union represents around 850 workers in San Francisco. The contract will cover four years and is retroactive to August 2009. The main issue in the negotiations concerned health care, and the deal will keep out-of-pocket costs from increasing and keeping dependent co-pays to $10 per month. Both sides said that they were happy with the agreement, and glad that they were able to reach a settlement. Workers at Hiltons in Chicago and Honolulu also agreed to contracts. The union says it will continue to work on contracts with other hotels.
