SAG and AFTRA move forward
The leaders of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists said that the two unions met last weekend and took further steps toward a merger. The merger would result in an organization of around 150,000. Both unions approved draft resolutions, which will be considered by the national boards of the two unions. SAG will look at the proposal on April 30, and AFTRA will see it on May 14. The unions say that their members seem supportive of the merger.
