SAG Board Approves 'Tentative' Deal, Tells Members To Say Yea
The Screen Actors Guild has reached a tentative deal with the Association of Motion Picture and Television Producers which would establish a a two-year contract set to expire at the same time as the previously negotiated three-year contracts of other Hollywood unions. After a year of extra bargaining, it is not clear whether SAG achieved substantially better terms than those other unions. The AMPTP says that the contract provides wage, pension, and benefit increases, as well new rules governing media rights. Union members will vote on the agreement in early May.
