Samsung halts business with supplier in China on child labor concern
Samsung Electronics is suspending business with one of its parts suppliers amid allegations the supplier has been using child labor. The allegations were brought to light by China Labor Watch after an investigation of supplier Shinyang Electronics, based in Dongguan. The watchgroup claimed to have found evidence that some underage workers were using fake identification to find jobs at the factory, which builds parts for cellphones. Samsung has vowed to implement more stringent hiring procedures in the wake of the allegations.
