San Francisco's labor unions wary of potential pension-rate increases
A San Francisco official is hoping to propose a ballot measure that would double pension rates for city employees. The Mayor has been negotiating a pension measure with a buy in with labor unions in the city, but this other measure would require workers to pay much more of their pension costs. Labor leaders say that they are close to a deal with the Mayor, one that everyone can agree on. Some also dismissed the new proposal, saying that they will continue to do what they are doing, and that the proposal would not affect their negotiations.
