Saudi Arabia plans new city for women workers only
Saudi Arabia is planning an industrial city that will be for female workers. The planners say that the idea is to allow women more freedom and independence while maintaining gender segregation. The plans follow government instructions to create more jobs for women. The first development, which is expected to open next year, would create about 5,000 jobs in female-run workplaces. Saudi Arabian women currently make about 15% of the workforce.
