Save the Jobs rally in Wilmington
A group of community activists called the Save the Jobs collation organized a rally of unions and labor organization in Wilmington, Ohio to protest air shipping company DHL's plan to contract out cargo sorting and flying jobs to UPS. The proposed agreement with UPS is one portion of the company's measures to reduce $1 billion in annual losses on domestic cargo, but could eliminate over 8,200 jobs in the Wilmington area. The rally, which is scheduled for today, includes unions representing cargo airlines and the Ohio AFL-CIO.
