Screen Actors Guild Is Divided Against Itself
The Screen Actors Guild is facing something of a mutiny in its contract negotiations with Hollywood studios, as a contingent of actors are frustrated with the tactical decisions of the union. The SAG has taken a quite militant stance during negotiations, which has been met with some internal criticism by those who feel the union should act more conciliatory tone. Complicating things is the opening of new positions on the SAG board, which may be filled with these dissident members. The board has essentially controlled the tone of negotiations so far.
