The Service Employees International Union agreed to end a public-relations campaign against Sodexo after the company sued them. The lawsuit, filed under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, alleged that SEIU threatened economic damage unless Sodexo acquiesced to their demands. Analysts say that the settlement will set back SEIU's efforts to organize workers at Sodexo. Sodexo has around 120,000 employees in North America, with about 18,000 represented by unions. SEIU launched its "Clean Up Sodexo" campaign in 2009.
