Senate upholds labor board's union rules
On Tuesday, the Senate rejected a measure that would have overturned new regulations put forth by the National Labor Relations Board. The regulations, which are set to go into effect on Monday, decrease the amount of time between when a representation petition is filed and when an election takes place. Proponents of the changes say that they will make the elections fairer, while opponents say that the changes give an unfair advantage to unions.
