Senator says Labor Dept dismantled website for Wells Fargo workers
Senator Elizabeth Warren has accused the nation's Labor Department for taking down www.dol.gov/wellsfargo, a website created to help Wells Fargo's employees file complaints and whistle-blow. Senator Warren believes the website was dismantled after President Trump entered office; however the Labor Department claims that the site was shut down on January 9th, when President Obama was in office. The website was created after the bank was fined $190 million after opening over two million unauthorized bank accounts. Trump's administration has been accused of shutting down similar government webpages, such as the Environmental Protection Agency's site on climate change.
