September Job Growth Weaker Than Expected
The last employment report released by the government before the election shows that companies added 96,000 new jobs to their payrolls in September, fewer than what economists had forecast. Losses occurred in manufacturing, retail and information services with four hurricanes in Florida adding to the slowed pace of hiring.
