Services sector gain better than expected
The US services sector showed encouraging growth as it had its largest increase in activity since May 2002. However, this growth has not led to more jobs. The Labor Department reported that productivity has been growing at a faster rate than previously observed. Although signs of economic recovery are evident, it has so far been a "jobless recovery", as many employers are in no rush to hire more workers.
