Settling the Settlement
Though the New York City transit workers and the MTA settled their dispute ten days ago, much about the dispute remains strangely unsettled. Dissidents within the union and MTA leaders have both shown displeasure at the negotiated deal, and may refuse to ratify the agreement. Oddly enough, the person who seems to have spoken up most emphatically for ratification is Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg.
