Sex Abuse Alleged at Apparel Maker
The top manager at an apparel maker in Jordan was arrested Saturday after a female employee came forward and accused the man of rape and sexual abuse. The factory, Classic Fashion Apparel Ltd., which makes clothes for American retailers such as Wal-Mart and Target, has faced rumors of allegations of sexual abuse for years, according to the Institute for Global Labour and Human Rights, which encouraged the woman to come forward. Although independent monitors had investigated the previous claims, no official complaint has ever been made until now. Both the accused manager and the factory owner deny any wrongdoing.
