Sixth of Hong Kong Domestic Workers Are Victims of Forced Labor: Experts
On Tuesday, human rights campaigners in Hong Kong called for stronger protection of the rights of maids and other domestic workers. New Research released by the Justice Centre Hong Kong has shed increased light on the issue of domestic labor, suggesting that more than 80 percent of the domestic workers in the territory are exploited. In addition, they found that 1 in 6 migrant domestic workers have been a victim of forced labor - with a significant portion being trafficked from neighboring countries.
