Solid hiring in July cuts unemployment rate to 4.3 pct.
The U.S. unemployment rate in July fell to 4.3%, dropping from 4.4% last month. While this is the lowest the rate has reached in over a decade, workers' pay has not shown similar improvements: average hourly wages only rose by 2.5% from last year, lower than would be expected for a period of such low unemployment. Industries that saw some of the most jobs added included restaurants, education, health care, and manufacturing.
