Some companies are paying their workers every day to recruit and retain
As companies compete to recruit in a tight labor market, instant pay is gaining traction. Dozens of fast-food chains and retailers are giving employees the option to withdraw money made on a day-to-day basis from their paychecks using apps like Branch or DailyPay. All taxes and garnishments are automatically deducted before the worker can withdraw their daily funds. While the DailyPay app is free to companies, employees are charged a fee to access and transfer their wages. One expert said, “And for employees, they finally have a transparent way to see how much they’re making, so they can manage their finances better.”
