Some states are offering unemployment benefits to workers who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine
Some states are working to ensure that employees who quit their jobs or are fired over COVID-19 vaccine mandates in their workplace can collect unemployment benefits. Generally, workers who quit their jobs or are fired for defying terms and conditions of employment are ineligible for unemployment benefits. Now four states, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, and Tennessee, have changed their unemployment insurance rules to protect workers who quit or are fired for refusing to comply with COVID-19 vaccination mandates. These changes in state law do not interfere with the Biden administration's federal vaccine mandate.
