Some Unions Grow Wary of Health Law They Backed
As the new health care law takes effect, some union leaders say that the law's requirements will increase costs for their own health care plans. Some are asking that low-paid unions members receive federal insurance subsidies to help offset the costs. About 20 million workers are covered by jointly administered health care plans. The unions say that without help, employers may end up dropping insurance altogether.
