Southwest Airlines Unionized Pilots Nix Proposed Contract
On Wednesday, 62% of the members of the Southwest Airlines Pilots' Association voted to reject a new four-year contract. The association, which represents approximately 8,000 pilots, issued a statement saying that while the contract addressed working conditions and pay, it was still not viewed as acceptable by most of the pilots. Southwest has been in negotiations with the union for over three years now.
