Spain teachers strike for 2nd day over staff cuts
Spanish teachers are on strike for the second day to protest austerity cuts. The cuts, which are part of an initiative to reduce costs, will cut staff, increase working hours and give less time for tutoring. The UGT union said that 80% of teachers were participating in the strike, while the government said that 40% were participating. Teachers, students and parents held a march in Madrid on Tuesday night to protest the cuts.
