Starbucks Alleges Labor Board Misconduct and Requests Temporary Suspension of Union Votes
Starbucks has claimed that labor board officials in St. Louis interfered with the agreed-upon mail-in ballot voting process and shared confidential information with union organizers at its store in Overland Park, Kansas which led to some workers voting in-person. As of Monday, Starbucks has asked the NLRB to suspend union elections at all of its stores temporarily in light of these charges. Starbucks also claims there is evidence of misconduct in other regions. In a statement responding to these claims, Starbucks Workers United has criticized the company for being anti-union and manipulating the legal process. There have been lawsuits on both sides throughout the unionization efforts at Starbucks.
