Starbucks and Other Corporations Announce Plan to Curb Unemployment of Young People
Led by Starbucks, 20 American corporations are beginning an initiative to hire 100,000 unemployed youths through 2018. The initiative’s leaders plan to offer full-time positions, apprenticeships, and internships to some of the country’s 5.6 million unemployed 16-24 year-olds. Youth unemployment continues to be three times higher than the national unemployment rate and continues to rise.
