Starbucks is weighing options for enhanced benefits for nonunion workers
As the unionization push at Starbucks locations across the U.S. gains momentum, newly appointed CEO Howard Schultz is pushing back. According to a report by the Wall Street Journal on Wednesday, Howard Schultz told U.S. store leaders that they are considering extending new benefits for workers exclusively at non-unionized stores. Schultz is waging a more aggressive campaign against unionization than former CEO Kevin Johnson as evidenced by his several mentions of unionization in public letters and speeches with workers.
