State Employees? Union Accepts Wage and Benefits Concessions
The CSEA announced that its members had voted to approve the collective bargaining agreement that was struck by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and union leaders in June. Gov. Cuomo had planned to lower the state's budget gap by convincing state employees to take concessions in the pay, in return for stronger job security. The new agreement calls for a free in base wages for the next three years. Cuomo describes the negotiations as "a win for the union and a win for the people of the state."
