Steelworkers, PACE Merging Into Union
The United Steelworkers of America and PACE International Union have decided to merge, creating one of the nation's largest industrial labor unions. Both unions were facing declining membership and it is expected that the merger will give them more political power and greater coverage of workers in the industrial sector. The new union will be known unofficially as the United Steelworkers of America, until a new name is announced.
