“Stranded employee” issue emerges due to coronavirus
With the emergence of the coronavirus comes new workplace concerns. Recent surveys show that a number of firms have employees who are “stranded” away from the workplace due to the virus and associated travel restrictions. Managing employees during a global outbreak has caused a number of difficulties and is forcing managers to tackle unanticipated questions. While employers are encouraged to assess employee situations on a case-by-case basis, many firms have chosen to require individuals who may have come into contact with the virus to work remotely.
