Strike action falls to record low
The Office for National Statistics in the United Kingdom is reporting that lower numbers of workers were involved in strike action and fewer working days were lost due to strikes in 2003 compared to 2002. Less than half a million days were lost in 2003 compared to 1.3 million in 2002. These figures are consistent with statistics that indicate a decrease in working days lost due to labor disputes over the past three decades.
