Strike likely for Philly food service workers
UNITE HERE Philly Local 274, which represents about 600 private sector hotel and food service workers, voted to authorize a strike against Aramark’s operations at the Wells Fargo Center. They are calling on “family-sustaining wages and increased access to healthcare” in their contract and want the wages to be the same across the three stadiums they are contracted to work. Aramark has stated they will continue to work to reach a settlement but that they have contingency plans in place in the event of a strike to ensure services continue.
