Strike still on despite union bargaining session with college
Although the IC Contingent faculty negotiating committees met with the school's administration on March 21 to continue contract negotiations, they still intend to strike beginning March 28. During the meeting, the parties traded supposals through a federal mediator--the union and administration convened in different rooms. The union decided to move forward with the strike because they are not yet satisfied that the administration is offering any real chance for pay parity or job stability. The parties will meet once more before the strike, on March 26.
