Strike Unlikely as TCAT Workers and Management Reach Tentative Agreement
Tompkins Consolidated Area Transit (TCAT) workers and management have reached a tentative agreement after extensive negotiations, avoiding an imminent strike. The agreement, announced jointly by TCAT and UAW Local 2300, reflects compromises from both sides and a commitment to maintaining uninterrupted transit services. Although union members had overwhelmingly authorized a strike, drivers were concerned about the impact on residents. The contract still requires ratification by union members, but for now, both sides emphasize continued communication and reliable service. TCAT leadership expressed appreciation for workers’ dedication in keeping the community connected.
