Striking bourbon workers reach a new tentative contract
Heaven Hill, one of the largest bourbon producers in the world, has reached a tentative agreement with their striking workers’ union. Six weeks ago, about 420 workers and members of the UFCW union went on strike. On Monday, the company announced that they would begin looking for permanent replacement workers as contract talks had reach an impasse. The union accused the company of wanting to replace the striking workers with non-union workers and negotiations picked back up on Thursday. The tentative agreement was announced on Friday and members are set to vote soon.
