Striking Hollywood workers receive food and necessities from drives organized by various Los Angeles unions
Various unions in the Los Angeles area have organized food drives to aid striking workers. The food drives benefit SAG-AFTRA actors and WGA writers who are still on strike demanding greater pay, increased employee benefits, and improved working conditions. The main organizers of the food drives are the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees union and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters union, and many charities have made significant contributions. The Los Angeles Food Bank has provided food items to striking workers, and the drives also provide packages of daily necessities that include hygiene products, diapers, and personal protective equipment. The number of workers who are seeking help from the food is growing as the Hollywood strikes continue.
