Striking Nabisco workers end their strike amid contract agreement
Nabisco workers end the first strike the company has seen in 52 years. On Saturday, Mondelez International employees represented by the BCTGM union approved a contract. This strike started as the company planned to switch from 8 hour shifts to 12 hour shifts without paying overtime. The contract guarantees a 2.25% pay increase this year, back dated to March 1st, and 60 cent raises for the next three years. The BCTGM’s president said the contract, “preserves our union's high standards for wages, hours and benefits for current and future Nabisco workers.”
