Striking S. Africa workers reject Exxaro pay offer
South African workers at five colliers owned by mining company Exxaro have rejected an offer from the company to return to work and are continuing to strike. The strike began on March 5, with workers demanding bonuses that the company says they will not pay. On Monday, police clashed with workers, firing rubber bullets into a crowd of protesters. Exxaro is a large coal supplier and delays in deliveries could effect power for the country. Miners at the largest copper mine are also on strike.
