Stripe workers capitalize on remote work offer
Silicon Valley firm, Stripe, offered staff a strange option during the pandemic: Leave their current high-cost locations where they had been working for a $20,000 bonus in exchange for a 10% cut to their base compensation. Stripe’s co-founder and president said on Tuesday that there were a lot of people who took this offer and capitalized on the remote working situation of the pandemic. Stripe has been an early leader in remote work with hiring engineers who work from home as early as 2013 but they have not made an ultimate determination of what the in-office and remote work mix will be post-pandemic.
