Student Union Organizers, Harvard Object To Unionization Vote
Harvard's Graduate Student Union has filed an objection against the university for potentially preventing hundreds of eligible voters from voting in the November 16th election. The objection follows multiple delays in the ballot counting process and could result in a re-vote. After 1,456 voted against and 1,272 voted for, 1,200 challenged ballots resulted in the election being deemed inconclusive. Of the challenged votes, some included students who were prevented from voting because their "preferred names" on the list of approved voters that Harvard supplied, did not match their legal names on their IDs. The National Labor Relations Board will hear the case sometime this month.
