Study Finds Violations of Wage Law in New York and California
A study that examined 300,000 workers wages in California and New York found that between 3.5 percent and 6.5 percent were paid below minimum wage. Restaurants and hotels were the most common industries to underpay their employees. The Labor Department said that as many as 2 million people across the country could be receiving less than minimum wage.
