Sundays aren't so special – according to the Fair Work Commission
Australia's Fair Work Commission believes that Australians value their Sundays less than they have in the past. Sundays are still valued more than Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, but the value of Saturday and Sunday has converged. The FWC argues that the convergence corresponds to the decrease in churchgoers. The FWC used this data to justify its cut in Sunday pay rates. The decision is controversial because of the lack of economic evidence and reliance on the FWC's analysis of cultural norms in Australia.
