Supply chain disruptions in the UK to be exacerbated by upcoming dock workers strike in Liverpool
On Monday, hundreds of dock workers at one of the UK's largest ports began a two-week long strike after labor talks with their employer, Peel Ports, did not resolve the pay dispute. These workers are represented by the Unite union and claim that Peel Ports has engaged in untrustworthy behavior and attempted to threaten the workforce. On the contrary, Peel Ports has stated its disappointment with the union that an agreement could not be made after its most recent offer included a pay increase. This industrial action is one of many currently occurring, as postal workers are also on strike for better wages due to high inflation and high cost of living in the UK.
