Survey: Low-wage workers gloomy about future
A new survey finds that workers earning less than $35,000 are pessimistic about their future career and finances, and that many say they are worse off now than during the recession. About 41% of workers who had worked at the same place for more than ten years said that they had received a promotion. The survey also found that 44% of employers said it was hard to find people with the skills to do lower-wage jobs, and that while many companies had training and education for employees, it was often not used for lower-wage workers.
